It is a branch of the area and environmental science that is based on the design, implementation, and management of processes, products and technology services for the prevention, control and remedy problems of environmental degradation; for the development of sustainable use of natural resources in production processes and consumption, always giving priority to the excellent quality of life in our environment.

Environmental engineering helps to ensure, through conservation and preservation of natural resources, better quality of life for this generation and for future generations. This discipline, in full swing, looks increasingly clear its objective and has been consolidating as a necessity, as it provides a series of favorable solutions to address the current ecological crisis facing the planet.
